FreshBins has spent a considerable amount of time defining our customer needs and expectations.
|
As the community become more conscious of personal and public health threats there is a corresponding demand for professional bin washing and sterilising.
(A recent example of this is a mandate issued by a large state capital city council to wash bins in its central business district.)
Motivating factors include:-
-
Hygiene (bacteria)
-
Cross contamination, particularly in schools and public
-
Maggot removal and fly deterrent
-
Odour
-
Threat of spread of disease (mosquito)
-
Rodent removal
-
Compliance with Health and Environmental Regulations
-
Water savings (depending on cleaning process)
-
General observation reveals that Bins are regularly used for food scraps, baby nappies, pet faecal matter, paints, solvents, chemicals and composting organic matter.

These materials leave traces in the bin which result in offensive odours, fly and rodent infestation and disease causing bacteria.
In some cases this leads bin owners to wash their own bins, usually washing all these trace compounds into the storm water system, which eventually lead to our rivers, bays and streams; potentially our drinking water. When one household does this it may be of little consequence but across a state with say 9.5 million bins the problems become far more significant and the environmental impact is substantial.
In an increasingly “green world” the message is clear:
Cleaner Bins, Cleaner Cities, Cleaner Planet!
