FreshBins New Units

FreshBins Research and Development team analysed customer

and environmental needs and opportunities and in early

2010, FreshBins completed construction of a completely new Unit

that met all design criteria.

FreshBins now has the capacity to provide a bin cleaning and

sterilising service on a municipal wide basis at the same rate

as waste removal trucks.

Features of the new Units are:

• High volume operations to suit municipal needs (Approx 1000 bins per 8 hours).

• Environmentally world leading truck (Euro 4 standard & Tier 3 USA)

• Zero draw on the municipal water supplies.

• Zero contaminated water to dump and the end of the day.

• Driver remains in truck during operation and seated offside for improved visibility in traffic.

• Multiple co-located bins collected without moving truck.

• Truck cannot move during cleaning and sterilising operation – eliminating collision risks with equipment deployed.

• Robotic bin location and pickup technology integrated with automatic safety switch-off (in the case that anything enters the working area of the robot) ensures safe operations at all times.

• Collector mechanism remains below Unit roof height eliminating overhead cable strikes.

• Reporting system to the individual address level.

• Complies with all current legislative requirements.

In the course of developing this new Unit FreshBins achieved some significant engineering milestones that have relevance to a number of environmental and human benefit applications. 

FreshBins will develop those applications.
